Need Encouragement for Disability Claim Follow-Up

On May 2nd I'm going in to my general doctor for a follow-up. I'm going to be talking about the possibility of me claiming disability. My quality of life isn't where it needs to be but if I work any less I'll loose everything. I'm hoping I can get just enough help to go down to part-time. I can settle for that. My goodness this is so stressful to talk about and I haven't even talked to him yet! I guess some encouragement would be nice? I'm just so nervous and choking on my pride.

You’re making such an important decision for your health, and it can definitely be scary to come to. Having the back-up of your doctors is so important in the process of applying for disability. Just remember that you know your body best, and you have paid a lot of attention to understand what your limits are. You are valid and heard, and I hope that your appointment goes well! It may be a long process, but it’s always worth it to have the quality of life you deserve. πŸ’•

Prayers! The process can take time but having a psychiatrist will help!

I'm actually thinking about that process. My fibro has been so bad and working 40 hrs a week is killing me. I've talked to my doctor about it. Just be prepared to have to have multiple specialists diagnose you. My doctor said I have to have a pain Dr, a rheumatologist, and a psychologist. Just be patient and be optimistic (as much as you can with fibromyalgia)

luckily, I've had most of that. I havent done a pain Dr and my psych might need an update tho. I just went to a rheumatologist not too long ago and got that one covered. Did the needle test
