It might not just be celiac. Celiac gave me functional dyspepsia, which only went away with amitriptaline and pantoprazole (proton pump inhibitor).

I’ve had to do vegan a few times for about 6months- 9months because everything not plant based (or gluten free) was too acidic. I was getting bleeding ulcers and ANY type of dairy, meat, or (especially) gluten contamination would set me into a HUGE flare. I haven’t had a flare in years but I can tell the signs when my body is in a autoimmune flare so I know to stay away from anything acidic and of course anything prepared where gluten is (I eat at home). It helps to know the signs of your autoimmune flare (I get a lot of nerve and neurological symptoms) to help dictate your diet accordingly to what is easiest on your digestive system!

I’ll definitely have to start trying stuff like that, keto has been a help lately but reflux is the issue more than anything!

I would talk to your GI doctor, it’s possible that you have developed some other type of food sensitivity. I actually developed both a lactose intolerance and a fructose intolerance (any kind of sugar) and I only got diagnosed two years ago. It can happen in a very short period of time, so listen to your body! If you’re sticking to your diet and still feeling bad, talk to your doctor so they can run any extra tests that might be necessary
