Hello, has anyone else experienced getting diagnosed with hyper/hypothyroid and then later getting diagnosed with the opposite? In 2019 I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. I have consistently had a thyroid nodule. I started seeing an endocrinologist that year and started doing bloodwork and getting ultrasounds on my thyroid done every couple of months. I was on Methimazole for about 2 years. My bloodwork started improving and so the doctor took me off the medication. The next time I went for bloodwork they told me my numbers has done a complete 180 and that now I had hypothyroidism. My body has been through a lot, I lost lots of weight and then I have gained it all back and more and I'm struggling with it.

What they said. You may have an auto immune disorder, or your body went into remission and your meds pushed you into hypo.

I don't have personal experience with this, but I know that Hashimoto's disease can manifest as hyperthyroidism in the beginning and shift to hypothyroidism later. It might be something worth asking about.
