Diagnosed with ARFID, Need Advice

I’ve been seeing a doctor about my mental health, mostly on the topic about depression (they managed my meds) however, she was adamant on diagnosing me with an eating disorder, telling me i was refusing to eat. They let my mom know that she diagnosed me with ARFID, which i hadn’t heard anything about. The doctor was super rude, and hadn’t even told ME I was diagnosed until we tried switching providers. Then my mom had to tell me. Anyways, anyone with ARFID, what can you tell me? I had ASD and from what i’ve understood through my own little research, can be similar to symptoms of ASD, so i didn’t realize it was an ed as well. I don’t necessarily have questions, but what can anyone tell me about this or their experiences? ❤️‍🩹

Arfid is a more recently discovered eating disorder that isn't based on body image issues it's caused by either sensory issues or fear of certain foods. It's commonly found in people with asd and ocd

Arfid was actually what got my doctors to start thinking I had Ocd bc I had all the symptoms but I never talked about it bc I assumed it was normal.
