Hi Kim! I was diagnosed just over a year ago. I am 43 and just finished my first year as an elementary school teacher. I subbed for many years and then was a paraeducator before getting my credential. Taking on a new diabetes diagnosis in my first year teaching was quite a challenge! I have other family that have or had diabetes. I thought I knew enough about it but taking it on myself I know I have a lot to learn.

wow that's great your also in the education field, so I'm glad you can relate on having family with diabetes, mainly the thing that has been a challenge at times is when I do go out to eat ,I have to ask a buttload of questions about the ingredients, furthermore my mom has been a big help as a caretaker for my late Grandmother who was diabetic

Hi, Kim! I'm Tamara, and was diagnosed in 1974. I co-own a small company that teaches American history by being characters out of history. I'm now disabiled because I broke my back nine years ago, but I keep positive and busy. I live in rural Upstate New York.
