I was first diagnosed with type 2 diabetes when I went to the hospital with a blood sugar of 609 a week before this last thanksgiving. But now found out that I don’t have type 2, but have type 1

I was diagnosed 5 days after my first birthday because I couldn’t stop vomiting and peeing. I lost like a third of my body weight and they thought I had leukemia because I was so young and they couldn’t believe I had diabetes. When they checked my BG it was over 800 and I was still conscious. My mom saved my life by picking the doctor up by his shirt and saying check their blood-sugar!! There isn’t any type one in the family but there is a ton of type two. Most doctors think that I got a flu or virus that attacked my pancreas. I’ve been collecting other ailments that stem from the diabetes for 26 years. I have been reading that people who have had Covid have been being diagnosed with pre diabetes so I’m wondering if it isn’t attacking the pancreas in certain people as well.

I was 12 when I got diabetes. At first, I couldn’t get enough to drink (classic high symptom), then I got tired and weak (DKA) and started vomiting. My parents took me to the ER and I was diagnosed.
