Scared and Depressed: Just Diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes

You can do this. Just listen to your body and your doctor and take it one day at a time.

Hi TeeteeTippins so I went through some severe depression and anxiety when I was first diagnosed with type 2 diabetes it felt to me like my life was over. But once you are well controlled on your meds it will just become part of your daly routine. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure (hypertension) type 2 diabetes and sleep apnea all in the same week. But the diabetes hit me the hardest I had a blood sugar of over 800 and an a1c of 13.6 and it felt at the time that I had just ended my life but my family helped me through it and you are doing the right thing by going on here. If you need someone to talk to I’m always here.

I went through the same thing, don’t let the depression get on the way of looking after yourself. You can do it!
