It could be but I know there are a bunch of other things that cause skin picking. Mine is caused by OCD and autism.

im diagnosed with bpd and do it when i get extremely like stressed with NO other thing to squeeze into at the moment

It could be from a variety of things OCD, anxiety, severe stress, boredom, ect. Or it may not have an obvious reason why. Dermatillania is it’s own disorder and while it may have underlying causes it may take some exploration into yourself to figure out why. In my experience it’s because of my anxiety not my BPD but that might not be why you do it. Idk if you have a therapist or get help for you mental health but I’d definitely see what they have to say on it :)
