For the people who struggle with the validation side of depression, how did you learn to get through with validating yourself, and not through others?

I remind myself that my brain is just being mean and I am worth it

Practicing self care. You can start small and then eventually you treat yourself like you would a close friend :)

I learned to validate myself by thinking of me as a separate person. As in if I was a different person with these sympotoms so I could have room for empathy for myself. I also did trauma work in therepy for my cptsd and it helped to validate myself and my feelings.

I like to ask myself "what would you say to a close friend in your situation?" My wellness coach taught me that. I'm great at validating others so when I frame it like that it helps me to validate myself as well. ❤️

i just said fuck it, it doesn’t work all the time but really it’s just surrounding yourself with the right people that truly make a difference
