Struggling with Depression and Diabetes: How to Overcome Food Restrictions?

I've been struggling with depression for many many years and I just found out last week I'm diabetic, I love food, and the way I have to eat now is adding into my depression, I don't want to eat at all and it's causing headaches/and rapid heartbeat , how do I overcome this?

I am a working mother too, the hardest part is I'm alone in this, and I work 10 hrs days so it's hard , I'm not sleeping and I don't have time to prepare things esp now that I have to obtain a specific diet

And you'd be surprised what subsitutions you can learn are good. I'm not talking about learning to love roasted kale chips, but lots of healthy food can taste good too with some prep. (Vanilla flavoring in plant-based creamer tastes really sweet without lots of sugar, for example. Or roasted veggies with unami seasonings are great for salty chip cravings. Sounds weird, I know, but they really do taste good. I learned to eat them myself.)

Maybe eating healthy will help your feelings of depression. Yes, diabetes is a difficult diagnosis, but the neurotransmitters that make us happy are largely found/made in the gut. Learning what your body needs nutritionally & eating healthy will help.
