I broke my leg recently and had to get metal plates and such put in. On my really bad days where my leg is really hurting, my depression really kicks in and I just feel like I want everything to be over. Does anyone have any idea how to combat these thoughts?

This is going to sound really stupid but just do small things/baby steps so it’s like giving yourself mini achievements. I broke my right collarbone (being a right handed person) and it made the most simple tasks the hardest. I was in so much pain it made me sick just trying to shift the smallest bit.
@Asta I got in a dark mindset because I had to get help with basic tasks and since I was in college had to get my roommate to help me with big things and learn how to do everything with my left which put me behind. But giving myself a small goal like moving my shoulder a bit for even five seconds was an achievement
@Asta thanks so much for this advice there's just some days I'm in so much pain that I don't know if I can go any further. For me, the hardest days are when it rains
