How Does Depression Affect Libido?

Does depression affect libido? I have been getting more depressed lately and I don't know why. I have an appointment with my Dr. to up my meds, but along with my depression is my libido took a huge dump. I usually have a high libido, but these past few weeks, sex doesn't interest me. I want to get back to myself in that aspect.

Yes so when serotonin levels drop (depressive episodes) the libido drops as well also if you are on an SSRI such as Zoloft that affects libido as well. Hope all gets better for you 🤗

It depends on what kind of meds you are on that crush your libido.Your meds might say that on the printout description of your meds.I had to get off of Prozac and Trazadone because my libido tanked and was ruining my relationship with my boyfriend.

I take sertraline which is generic zoloft. I'm also trying to get pregnant so I have to see which ones will not cross over.
