Debilitating Joint Pain and Fatigue: Seeking Advice

Hello all. I've been struggling with debilitating joint pain and fatigue off/on for the last yr, worse in the last 6mo. Some days it feels like mono, the flu, and a 2-story fall all at once. The pain in my feet, ankles, hands, wrists, elbows and shoulders gets brutal. A pain clinic RN immediately said it was fibromyalgia, without much of an exam or discussion of further testing. I have a horrible reaction to Neurontin and Lyrica, so aside from ibuprofen all day, I have no options. Every time I saw her, it was the same...no pill will help, exercise, meditate, eat healthy, etc. I did all of that, except walking. I developed neuropathy in hands and feet, hurt to have socks on. I went into MyChart and looked over some results from 2019 that suggested early stage RA. When I brought it up to her, she dismissed it. My OCD and Dr. Google have my head spinning! Anyone have words of wisdom? Insights? Similar experiences? Suggestions? Thanks for "listening".

thank you for for sharing. I'm sorry your friend was ignored and suffered as long as she did before getting the help she needed. I'm happy to hear she's doing better now, it gives me hope.

I have a friend who was diagnosed with RA in high school but was symptomatic since middle school. Her parents and many doctors had passed off her complaints of stiff joints (especially her hands) for many years prior to getting a doctor to actually listen. She now takes a monthly injection and it helps her a lot to keep the stiffness at Bay and her joint mobility is a lot better
