Distraction
Having healthy distractions and being around people of good influence are a must! I also practice mindfulness in order to be aware of my triggers and to observe why I feel the compulsion to do ______.
If it's smoking or something oral you may have an oral fixation. My grandma used to smoke so when he stopped he always had toothpicks in his mouth to help and some people also use mints or whatever to satisfy that oral fixation (the craving of having something in your mouth)
@upsettispaghetti Good to know, I'll keep that in mind for the people I know that smoke. I was talking about a addiction to a specific habit
@Lennon037 distractions help with that, I know, and meditation then if that helps. Good luck :)

@upsettispaghetti You can also pray :)
Sunflower seeds, and gum. That's at least what helps me.

@TyeDarkSoul I'll try that. And it just sounds good to eat anyway.
@Lennon037 I normally get the Sunflower seeds with the shells, it gives my mouth something to do as I watch TV or do things that would normally make me want to do the habit I'm trying not to do all the time.
