I was diagnosed with Crohn’s this year. I’m 20 and I’ve had symptoms since I was 10ish. On one hand, I’m angry that doctors always wrote off my symptoms as no big deal. On the other hand, I honestly think it was better for me to have chronic pain and vitamin deficiencies than it would have been to go through all these medical procedures as a kid. Also, I know a lot of people don’t get diagnosed with Crohn’s until later in life when the disease has progressed more than mine has. In a way I’m lucky, but I don’t feel like it.
