My friend you are not stupid for that. Even those who have not had any trauma still don't like that. You are just simply setting boundaries for yourself which is amazing. I myself get triggered very easily if someone is yelling or talking in a loud tone. You are not alone.

Do not feel embarrassed do not apologize, you are you and that is okay, the people that deserve to be in your life will respect that

I tell people "I am uncomfortable with being touched right now" and/or "when someone grabs me it feels aggressive and makes me uncomfortable"

Many people (including me) do not like being touched. Even good touches by most people for me are unwelcome. Your body doesn't have to have an explanation. We don't have to explain why we like mushrooms on our pizza. Personal preference is personal and might not have a specific reason. It might be hard to internalize this when you have lived a long time not operating this way.... that's okay. Learning new ways to think takes time and retraining people how to treat you isn't easy. Plus 'NO.' Is a complete sentence and it is in your human right to tell people 'NO.' And not give an explanation. You are a beautiful and whole soul even when you do not feel like it. šŸ’•

hey, the way you react is the way you react, it is NEVER wrong. you have been through so much, and anyone who cares will understand your reactions/not even bring it to that point. do not surround yourself with people who are not respectful of your needs. as soon as someone raises their voice at me, my fight or flight immediately goes crazy. itā€™s going to be difficult definitely to set those boundaries and explain; but you will find that support and strength to yell back again, i promise.
