Dealing with SSRI Side Effects

how bad were the side effects for you when you started your SSRI everytime they change my dose i spiral really bad for a month.

Personally, I've been fortunate and haven't had bad side effects with SSRIs, but that's just me. It really depends on the person... That would be something to talk to your prescriber about as you try to find something that works for you. they will know how to assess the fit (risk/benefit analysis), what time frame the side effects should clear up, and/or if there are meds that can help with the side effects. I was was on atypical antipsychotics at first which as a whole wasn't a fit for me, we decided. With my first set of meds I did have unpleasant side effects that were helped with another, before other side effects popped up. We then switched off to try other meds until we found one that worked for me. Best of luck on you quest to find the right med/combination and dosage.

another thing about my journey is that it's possible that the side effects could also come from too quick and adjustment, so it's possible they could change the titration (rate of increase of the meds. That was the case with another one of my meds.
