Dealing with Peritonsillar Abscess Pain

Has anyone here experienced a Peritonsillar abscess (abscess in the tonsils)? I think that's what I may be experiencing that the doctors are removing my tonsils for, even though they said they have no idea what it is. I compared a few pictures of the smaller sizes abscesses to a picture of my tonsils and they look exactly the same. It's so painful I don't want to deal with this. My surgery is August 1st and I'm starting to think I should have scheduled it sooner...

Schedule it sooner if you can long you wait the higher risk of the infection spreading especially at its location you don't want it to spread I had eight teeth removed in my first emergency surgery due to abscesses building up in the jaw it was so bad the surgeon woke me up afterwards he said you are very lucky man because if you waited any much longer you would have needed a tracheotomy to continue breathing I just had my second emergency surgery last February similar reason only had two extracted I hope that you don't succumb to a similar problem that I had but if it's already infected make sure you getting taken care of nothing is more important than your own health
