Dealing with Painful Varicose Veins: Seeking Advice

I was told a couple years ago that I have varicose veins. They are progressively getting worse and are quite painful (located in the backs/ sides of my knees & my ankles/feet). I know compression socks are supposed to help, but I have a tactile problem with over restrictive clothes or uncomfortable fabric. Is there anything else that might help slow their progression down and/or help with the pain?

I have the same issue, so I'm curious to see what other folks have to say! Also, I have tried compression sleeves instead of full socks and it does help a little bit!

I got some compression socks that are not as restrictive and love them…. The tight ones are way too uncomfortable to me. It seems to help quite a bit.

I'm not sure if this would help for this particular issue, but I've seen kinesiology tape used instead of compression socks for edema. Maybe that could be an option here too? A few specifically placed strips of tape instead of a full sock or sleeve could maybe be less of an issue.
