I've been dealing with painful periods ever since I started at the age of 9. It's only now that I'm actively trying to conceive that I realise something is wrong. I went for an ultrasound where I was told my ovaries were enlarged and stuck to my womb. Been waiting for an appointment to be diagnosed with Endometriosis since May this year. Looking for people who have been through something similar.

Hi! I started my period late around age 13, and by 14 was having issues with extremely painful and heavy periods. I was lucky that my mom had an endo diagnosis, since it's highly hereditary, I was able to be "unofficially" diagnosed since I was a teenager and started on a long road of different birth control options to manage my symptoms. I'm 27 now and only got my official diagnosis through surgery last year. I suggest finding a GYN that specializes in endometriosis, especially a specialist who is trained in minimally-invasive surgery for endo.

@MeadowWarrior Yeah, that's what I'm trying to do. I'm on the waiting list and have been for six months currently.
