Claiming PIP for Fibromyalgia in the UK

For fibromyalgia sufferers in the UK, did you find it easy to claim PIP? I have just reapplied for it as I was misdiagnosed by my GP in the first claim. Did you have to attend an assessment interview? Feeling very anxious ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ

I have tried twice for pip. Got refused. Yes, I had to attend a assessment interview

I had to take the DWP to appeal. I was finally awarded enhanced daily living. I presently get standard mobility. It was really hard, but the sooner you apply the better as it takes the DWP so long to get back to you. Just be persistent and do not take their knock backs as final.

I have diagnosed fibromyalgia and I also get PIP, but I do have other issues like Scoliosis and epilepsy (controlled) Fibromyalgia is a progressive illness that can worsen over time so PIP should be available to everyone with it, I think the only issue with it is it can be different in every person. I've been in receipt of it every since it was D.L.A. you should keep applying for it, I've heard of more and more people being awarded it with fibromyalgia.

I had help too. My concentration level isn't good enough for a form like that

I'm now awaiting an appeal for pip. I reapplied in June last year and they did a telephone assessment and then said my condition hadn't changed but it had. I asked for a mandatory reconsideration and again was assessed over the phone but told me there was no evidence my condition has changed so now awaiting an appeal which I have been waiting months for. Getting medical evidence from the gp was also very hard. Eventually I got a letter which just said my condition had got worse but nothing else. Hope you get on OK with your claim

perhaps get help from citizens advice in regards to writing up a summary for the appeal. I did that and won my appeal.
