Dealing with OCD: Anyone else?

Hi! I'm Sophia! Nice to meet you guys! :) I'm on here because I want to know what it's like for other people having OCD. I deal with intrusive thoughts, overthinking, physical compulsions, health anxiety, etc on a daily basis lol. I was wondering if any of you guys deal with that?

Can you help? Connect today

my OCD is "mild", as it's only a part of my ASD. i mainly deal with intrusive thoughts, and compulsions/avoidances that are mainly related to my sensory issues. such as tying my shoes at least three times or brushing my teeth with only disposable bamboo toothbrushes and toothpaste tablets, not paste. very afraid of nonfood in my mouth

Hi Sophia! I was diagnosed with OCD many years ago. So many aspects are really difficult to deal with and it's a daily struggle. I would say one of the most mind numbing things I deal with is trying to get others to understand the compulsions. If I had a nickel for every time I've heard "Just don't worry about it" or "it doesn't have to be done exactly that way". Oh yes it does. If I tried to just leave things "until later" it would cause a full blown panic attack until it got done.

Hey Sophia, Iā€™m Jason. I also struggle with ocd and a specific phobia. It really sucks and I have a lot of physical and mental compulsions, contamination ocd, balance ocd, and somatic symptom anxiety. I hope you find what youā€™re looking for here.

Hi, i struggle with symptoms of OCD, but havenā€™t been officially diagnosed as of yet, so im not sure if my response is very valid haha. but i tend to have a lot of intrusive thoughts, and struggle with compulsions that for the life of me i canā€™t not complete. i donā€™t actually struggle a lot with germs personally, but there are so rituals i have to complete which are very tiresome.

Literally freaked out on my mom because her list making skills sent me into flight or fight mode the other day (not to mention holiday time is my least fave time). It was so irrelevant too. Disassociated to keep the upsetto feels from going melt down attack. For me I have a bad time of manually manipulating all my finger/knuckle joints, get yelled at to stop and literally cannot stop for hours and they make no pop/crack noises no more. It's great *sarcastic*.
