Dealing with Occipital Neuralgia and Migraines

I've been treated for migraines for years (which I do have) but I also have severe tension in my shoulders, neck, and the back of my head. At my latest neurology appointment they've decided its occipital neuralgia and they're gonna do nerve blocks in the back of my head. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Every 3 months. Just a couple of shots at the base of the skull, and it takes effect in a couple of days.

I just started them last month myself. They have had a good effect. I can move my head and neck more, and with less pain.

This is encouraging! How often do you get them?
