Dealing with Myoclonic Seizures: Understanding Auras

Learned a few weeks ago what an aura is and it’s really helped me notice when a bout of myoclonic seizures are coming. That being said, it sucks that the only thing to do is sit, drink water from a sippy cup, and either wait for it to pass or until it’s close enough for my next dose of keppra ;-;

When i say a change in medication, i’m referring to the dosage amount

If you’re having auras inbetween doses of your keppra, you might have to get a change in medication. This happened to me recently. Also definitely be aware of your triggers! Everyone has different ones. Some of mine are lack of sleep, extreme change in temperatures, and extreme mood changes

Thanks; I’ve been keeping an eye on them and tracking and seizures I have. The main problem is my triggers (stress and lack of sleep being the worst two) have been part of my daily routine this summer thanks to visiting family and some relatives having health issues 🙃
