Dealing with Multiple Medical Issues and Seeking Solid Answers

I have been dealing with a lot of medical issues for a while. I have so many diagnoses, most of my symptoms are odd and not related. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in a 10 minute appointment. I have still felt that there is a bigger picture to my issues. I have so many doctors in the last 4 years. I want to give up. One big thing is my fatigue issue. I have to nap everyday or sleep long hours. Which most of the time is hard as I have kiddos. I was also recently denied for SSD and I am going to appeal. I have tried to work off and on and I just can't. I have even tried Instacart and did 1 small batch. I made it through and came home and crashed on the couch. I'm not entirely sure where I am going with this. I have been on the app for a while just lurking and reading but today things are getting to me. I want solid answers which seems impossible anymore. Thank you for reading if you do. Honestly I probably have a lot more to say but I'm exhausted.

Not that this is the best source, but I got into medical tiktok specifically chronic illnesses, seeing others talk about what they were dealing with, and sharing their discoveries about their health conditions have helped me to not feel alone, and gave me leads to research. I have gotten 2 new diagnosis that explain some chronic issues, and I am working on 2 more possibilities with my doctors

Hey love I understand how you feel because I’m going through the same. I filed for ssd when I was first diagnosed in 2016 but I was denied and haven’t tried again since.. I think there are other options like SSI I believe it’s called. I’m planning on going through a lawyer this time. Im waiting until I’m done with this round of doctors appointments and test because I feel like there is more going on. I’m having a lot more symptoms than I had back then. Stay positive and everything will work out. 💕 Try getting a lawyer and have them do it. I know some of them you don’t have to pay upfront you only pay after you’ve been approved.

Dreamr - have you looked into CFS/ME? A friend has them and your symptoms sound like exactly what she describes. HUGS to you.

Thank you everyone. I'm super happy I found this app and community. I'm going to look into some of things and read about those. I am diagnosed with hypothyroidism and hashimotos disease as well. I have been diagnosed since teen years with PCOS. Out of the blue earlier this year I was diagnosed with absent seizures. I have a few more diagnoses but at the moment I can not think of those.

Just to add since I reread what you said because I had a feeling I missed some of it the first time (woohoo brain fog, haha) - the main reason I suggest those three things is that they are all fairly common (at least among chronically ill people) and often even go together with fibromyalgia. If your symptoms happen to like up with those things you may find yourself being able to shorten your list of disgnoses rather than extending it. Or at least have more symptoms unde one name which I've finally seen start to happen for me recently and has been a huge relief. Best of luck taking care of yourself through everything. I struggle so much and I don't even have kids right now so I can't imagine how hard it is for you. Solidarity. 🙏

Dang, I'm sorry. In that same vein some other things to look into if you have energy and time at some point could be Mast cell activation disorder, dysautonomia like POTS, and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders and Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes just to see if any of those could explain things. I initially just got a fibro diagnosis and slowly have gotten a clearer picture of things. Fibro may even still end up staying as a diagnosis for me but at this point we're starting to get an idea of more specific names for my issues.

I understand the frustration that comes with being exhausted emotionally from trying to deal with looming uncertainty about diagnoses and income. I'm currently only able to take one college class at a time and I couldn't keep my cashier job because I couldn't stand all day, the pain was too much. Have you thought about autoimmune disorders? They can sometimes cause hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia like symptoms. Its a shot in the dark since I don't know you and I'm not a professional but I had to do a lot of strange research before I was able to push through the dumb medical system to get a diagnosis. It's not the same but I hope this helps. Hang in there. ❤️
