Dealing with Multiple Chronic Conditions

hey! so i have a few conditions. i have POTS, FIBRO, and of course cfs. im wondering which condition causes you to feel like youre anemic all the time. like your body physically has no muscle mass. i know all play a role, but i cant manage them all at once. its super frustrating because idk if need re eval for my fibro and pain meds, to take it easy, or to drink a crap ton of potassium water lol

Hi (: I have CFS and I'm currently experiencing loss in muscle mass. I actually need to get a leather check-up because my weight loss could be Thyroid related. To answer your question, there are a few things it could be (according to my mother who is a nurse) 1. Your CFS. It depends how much you move daily. If your CFS is pretty debilitating, then over time your body will shed it's muscle because it's not being used. 2. FIBRO. Fibro patients often complain about feeling like they have more fat than muscle tissue which could be anemia making you feel that way, OR if you've started moving around more than you used to with CFS, then it's possible you're re-building muscle. (Like when weight trainers say they're going to "shred" or whatever. It means like break down their muscle to rebuild it) 3. Thyroid. It's a possibility that you're developing thyroid issues and losing weight. (: I would bring all that up to your doctor and specifically ask if you can check your thyroid and bring up the feeling of losing muscle. (: Also make sure to see if you've had drastic weight loss (:

When you say feeling anemic/no muscle mass, are you referring to generalized weakness? I’m also kinda convinced I have POTS or some dysautonomia. Definitely can relate to the chronic fatigue. I’d be curious to see your EBV titers. I was perfectly healthy besides the fatigue part until a few years ago when I noticed one enlarged lymph node visibly seen in my neck. Went to doc who ordered labs and found my EBV titers were much higher than should be without an active mono infxn (I have no knowledge of having mono in past). Ever since then I’ve had random health issues pop up one after another and just keep piling up with really no answers. It’s been miserable. Anyways, EBV has a ton of research linking it to several conditions. Not many docs are familiar with this. Id like to know more info about your symptoms and experience with navigating the health system. And any answers you get along the way!
