Dealing with Medical Anxiety: Tips Needed

I have an important appointment next week, and I’m so anxious about it. Over the years of being sick it seems like medical things have just gotten more and more anxiety-inducing. Anyone have tips for dealing with this anxiety?

Thank you everyone!! I can report that it went well. It was super overwhelming (lots of changes and next steps), but the doctor was so nice and helpful. She said she’s determined to help me. It was a really good, productive appointment

Is it possible to do an online visit? That way you’re in a comfortable and familiar place. Also I have started looking for calming games/apps that you can put on your phone. Search YouTube for recommendations.

Leave For The Appointment Super Early. Sit At Appointment in Silence..Do Deep Breathing or Yoga Breathing..Slowly You Will Calm Down. It’s Called White Coat Syndrome…❗️

My therapist helped me come up with a doctor visit care kit. I start the process before I leave. I have things to keep me calm. Like fidget toys and I keep a list of coping skills I've learned that work for me. One thing that helps me is to write sensory poems to keep grounded. A sensory poem is writing down what you hear, see, smell, and feel.
