I understimulate as much as possible. Force myself to sit down and relax. Get as much sleep as possible. Do things that help you wind down but make sure it things you like to do.

Every time I have been manic I’ve broken out in handcuffs, and I only realized I was manic in retrospect. So now I have asked friends I trust (all 3 of them) to say something if they think I’m ramping up. If that happens I plan on staying indoors as much as I can and taking the best possible care of myself: Lay in bed from sunset to sunrise, avoid caffeine, eat anti inflammation foods, drink water and teas (lavender tea in the evening really helps relax me), exercise, stretch, epsom salt bath daily, etc That’s my plan for now. I do NOT want to end up in a psych ward again. All I have been to have been dehumanizing, and I experienced physical assault by staff in one.

I'm sorry you went through that, yeah I can definitely relate about not wanting to go back through the torture of a psych ward.

Commenting cause I want to know too. I get mostly mixed episodes and it causes me to be agitated and comes with not sleeping without being sedated basically
