Dealing with Knee Pain Without Replacement Surgery

I am 55 years old & my knees have been bone on bone for many years. I get Synvisc One injections & Cortisone in between those. The pain is getting worse now & it's even bad after those injections. My problem is, I don't want to get knee replacements. Friends & family tell me to get them done allll the time. I've heard too many horror stories in regards to things going wrong with the replacements or still having pain with them or them just not working at all. What do you non-knee replacement having people do to help with your pain?

You are very smart not to get knee replacement, it's horrible for 6 weeks and my knee still hurts

ugh, I'm sorry you're in pain still. I don't think I'll ever change my mind on having it done.

Oh my goodness! I had I need replacement and I will never do it again! My other knee is just as bad but I found a doctor that helped me. The place that helped me was called InnovaMed in Durham! Give them a try! You will not regret it! Good luck

I have really bad knees due to degenerative osteoarthritis. I take diclofenac and Gabapentin twice a day but the pain is still unbearable. I had a hip replacement @ 5 years ago that did me little to no good. Although I have better range of movement I still have a lot of pain. I am afraid to get my knee replaced because of the bad experience with my hip. I know a lot people swear by joint replacements but I do not.

I am in the same boat as you. My husband had a knee replacement and Ended up with Crossy, and had have back surgery to implant a device to Help with the pain. I have arthritis, bursitis, and Morton’s Neuroma in both feet. It works for me To sit a lot because I am tired thanks to Fibromyalgia! Seriously, I take 2 turmeric Capsules a day and a move me cap, and I do manage to not have horrible pain. I do get cortisone shots in my knee Occasionally. Other than that, you might Try frankincense (topically).
