Dealing with Knee Pain: Tips and Tricks

My knees often hurt when I stand or bend my knees like the joint aches. This happens a lot when I have blood pooling and my knees turn red/purple and the rest of my legs stay their normal color. How do I help with this pain?

These sound like POTS symptoms to me. To help with this I stay hydrated with water and an electrolyte drink like body armor. For the pooling, many people wear compression garments like long socks. POTS people are also sensitive to extreme temperatures. My doctor also didn't know if it was POTS or IST, and I eventually got diagnosed with POTS with the possibility of another heart issue. Good luck ❤️

my doctors also don’t know between the two bc my resting bpm is usually tachycardia but it goes even higher when I stand, but I get worst symptoms when standing or using stairs

Also keep in mind EDS accompanies POTS with many individuals. Keep it on your radar.

I have dysautonomia but they aren’t sure if it’s POTS or IST. I have tachycardia all the time but it’s worse when I stand or climb stairs. When I stand I lose my vision too and the palpitations cause chest pain. I’m also constantly overheated and sweating and flushed. My doctors think it’s all related to my dysautonomia. There’s not a lot I can do to help.
