Sometimes talking to a friend or therapist helps me see the logical side of things

I pretend I'm an actor, and talk out loud about my intrusive thoughts, then act like a different character who uses logic and reasoning who challenges the intrusive thoughts character. It's silly but it works for me šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

I practice my mindfulness and focus on my breathing patterns and the things and sounds in the present moment. A count down- 5 red things in the room, 4 smells, 3 sounds, 2 blue things, 1 thing I physically feel ex: soft material, cold water... I also colour in my colouring books and listen to Alan Watts or music to distract myself and put my focus on that single thing(s) that I'm doing in that moment only. No thoughts of the past or future, just on what I'm doing right then and there. It's been very helpful all these years!

@DizzyTheaKitten I practice mindfulness 3-4 times a day and I do guided meditations for a hour and breathing exercises, itā€™s not helping my anxiety is just getting worse by the day

I try to avoid things that lead to them. Not walking on a road side, not driving, staying away from sharp objects or bathing alone. I donā€™t know how helpful that is to you.

one thing I like to do, is picture the intrusive thoughts coming in like emails. I recognize that the intrusive thought is something that came to my mind, but itā€™s unwanted. so I picture marking the intrusive thoughts as ā€œspam emailsā€ and putting them into the trash folder. recognizing that itā€™s itā€™s a spam thought is important, and helps it be less sticky. also distracting your mind with a phone game that makes you think, can be helpful to distract your mind. I hope this helps you!! ā¤ļø

Sometimes I look at old videos of me and my friends to distract myself but sometimes watching a tv show or movie that makes you happy might help
