Dealing with IBS Pain: Tips and Advice

Does anyone else with IBS have pain when eating everything? It seems like there aren's any "safe foods" for me, even drinking water will cause terrible stomach cramps and spasms. Does anyone have any tips on how to manage this?

If it’s worse with eating maybe get a gastric emptying study done. I was originally diagnosed as IBS-C but it turns out I also have gastroperasis which is why it hurts more when I eat or drink anything. And if that’s the case there are medications and diet changes that can be used to help reduce symptoms.

Yes!! It’s funny sometimes when I forget to eat I somehow end up in bed with gas pains. From literally nothing! Like did I swallow too much air or something?

I have a bad gallbladder and when my symptoms are really bad then water even triggers things. My best advice is to talk to a doctor about your symptoms, but also what has helped me is smoothies, soup, etc. Basically turning food onto baby food so the body has less work to do to break it down and therefore less likely to feel upset. There’s also this supplement I’ll take sometimes called Super Digest Away by Solaray, and it has enzymes that help me break down foods. Not sure if this helps with IBS, but it helps me with my stuff.
