Dealing with IBS for 20 years, nothing seems to work

Hi, I've had ibs for almost 20 years, and it's been really bad for the last 5 years, nothing seems to work, the pain in my back is really bad until I can go to the toilet, which relieves it, but gives me really bad stomache cramps when I have been to the loo.

Try taking IBGard, it's peppermint oil in capsule form. I have been taking it for years and it helps with the pain. It also helps with the other symptoms as well. You need to be careful with OTC medicines for constipation and diarrhea, both taken too much may damage your gut even more. I'd recommend speaking to a gastroenterologist about your symptoms. I've been going since I was in my 20s and she has helped me a lot. I'm 31 and I have had 2 Colonoscopies done along with an endoscopy. The prep is the worst part of it, but they (the Colonoscopies) both came back negative for Crohn's and colitis for me. People can get colon cancer no matter what age they are. However IBS will not lead to it since it's not damaging like Crohn's and Colitis are.

I too deal with multiple and a variety of symptoms. Some things work. Then they don’t. I do however have to take some form of miralax every day and drink as much fluids as I can!

what is miralax, the only thing that helps me go to the loo is dark chocolate.
