I have congenital right hip dysplasia. Was finally diagnosed 2 years ago. Started feeling the pain and popping sensation from walking as a teenager, and no doctor wanted to diagnose me until my body was fully developed. Fast forward 10 years and the pain and popping got worse. Finally demanded help from doctors again and it was officially diagnosed

Had arthroscopic hip surgery to reshape ball and socket as well as repair a labral tear. Was supposed to have a second one on the other hip but it never came to fruition cause of insurance.

My hip constantly grind in its socket and I wouldn’t be able to walk and it would lock as well. Spent six months talking to doctors doing physical therapy and MRIs and they couldn’t find anything. Next step would’ve been surgery so I opted out of that. Wasn’t until probably four years later when I was getting a tattoo that my artist was the one who suggested hip dysplasia because her daughter suffered from the same thing. And because I was so young no doctor wanted to diagnose me with it.
