Dealing with Herpetic Whitlow: Need Advice

I possibly have Herpetic Whitlow. I've been dealing with it for a few years. it was never bad just a small spot on my fore arm once or twice a year. but now it's bad and it's on both arms and hands what the best way to mitigate until I can go see a dr?
