What techniques/coping skills work best for you when dealing with health anxiety? I’m currently taking sertraline and waiting to get in for an initial appointment with a psychiatrist and therapist. Looking for a little advice/help in the mean time. Thank you❤️

      you’ve probably heard this a lot but avoid self diagnosing using websites like webMD for health anxiety. i think it’s possible for anyone to be influenced and scared by what they read. focus on the health that you DO have, try journaling and write about the things that you’re grateful for and the parts of your body and mind that are healthy.

      My best advice is to remind yourself of what isn't wrong, what you body can do. Sometimes for me it's as simple is looking around, and noticing I can see, or right now I am noticing I can feel my phone as I type. With so much going wrong, sometimes we forget anything isn't wrong. Take some breaths, and maybe jot down your feelings, and try to stay as distracted as you can. For me, talking to people about anything, but my illnesses helps me forget for a little. You'll find your own coping mechanisms with time. I thought I would never be able to deal, but it gets easier to handle as you learn more of what helps. I hope you're able to manage the anxiety soon, I know how hard it is.💕
