does anyone else ever develop intense anxieties about specific diseases? like i’m really worried about being diagnosed with diabetes or heart problems. it’s really hard because i have some risk factors and i think i would struggle not to blame myself for the diagnosis.

Yessss!! Heath anxiety is so horrible. It always feels like something is wrong. And then this worry about everything and it never seems to go away. Whenever I feel like one simple thing is wrong, I start to worry

Yes. I'm intensely afraid of anything dental - dental diseases, dental work, etc. I finally have a dentist appointment scheduled for a month from now and I'm freaking out. Also, brain stuff. Dementia, prion diseases, etc. I have a pituitary tumor, and it's not growing, but the "what if"s relating to brain stuff freak me out

I used to have dreams about going blind. My eyes are fine with glasses but I’m starting to to see lines in my vision somtimes. And now my mom takes two drops and my dad just found out he has something genetic that could make him blind. So now they tease I need to take care of them and I haven’t had dream like that forever but watch it skip a generation instead

I get really anxious about breast cancer. (TMI) I feel myself all the time but I have pretty fibrous breast tissue and I have no idea a normal tissue lump vs something I should worry about. Both my mom and grandma were diagnosed with breast cancer within the last year, so that definitely didn't help. It pops into my head all the time "I could be dying right now and not know it". It helps to breathe and remind myself that even if I did have it, there are treatments. Or that many other people have/do have it and are okay and doing well

Hi, I know the problem intimately. I still have very serious anxiety about COVID, even though I was vaccinated and even though I already got sick once. I am constantly afraid that I will get the violent variant and I will reach a state of being sedated and ventilated and in the end I will die because of it. What helps me the most is conversations with my psychologist, he really knows how to help me overcome things, and that's why I offer you psychological treatment as well. Have you tried it before?
