Dealing with Genital Herpes After a Trauma

I was just diagnosed with genital herpes following a rape. It's been a difficult diagnosis to absorb and process. Having the virus and my first outbreak gave me bell's palsy on both sides of my face. My right side is healed, but not the left. I've been on 2 courses of Valtrex and 2 courses of acyclovir. My doctor says that I'll likely need a daily dose of an anti viral to calm down the outbreaks. I've been off of acyclovir for about a week, and I discovered a new, very painful blister. Are there any home remedies or any OTC treatments that help?

I've had it for 7 years now. Every breakout isn't as bad as the last. It's really sucky for the first few years then you stop getting blisters. Anyway, l don't take valacyclovir every day. Only during breakouts. I only get then now when my immune system is low due to stress or eating unhealthy food. But also get yourself some L-Lysine.

I was diagnosed the same way so you're not alone❤️luckily my outbreaks haven't been too painful and I've heard they lessen as time goes on
