I recently got diagnosed with gastroparesis. My doctor is starting me on a medication for it, and I really hope it works but I’m scared it won’t because what then? I can already eat very little and am losing weight

Good luck. I am on reglan for mine and it helps, but now I have such anxiety with food overall it’s a whole different battle.

@Careabear yeah reglan is what I was prescribed. I really hope it works but I’m scared it won’t or it will cause side effects

Some options for managing gastroparesis include dietary changes, such as switching to smaller, more frequent meals and avoiding high-fiber foods. There are also other treatments like Botox injections, gastric pacemakers, and feeding tubes if medications don't provide enough relief. It's important to work closely with your doctor and consider consulting a dietitian to find the best approach for your situation.
