You can ask the doctor to keep the gallstones, seriously. I opted for just the pictures of them. They were like ping pong balls clogging my gallbladder. It was extremely painful. I had the chills, pain after eating in my stomach and back, bloating, nausea all the time. And just a feeling of not being well all the time. You should ask for the ultrasound results so you know how big the stones are now. So you have an idea down the road if they are getting worse or staying the same. I had severe pain that radiated up into my shoulders throughout an entire weekend. I went to my primary doctor and she ordered an ultrasound. I was referred to a surgeon that said I was borderline for surgery. I opted to get it removed and in recovery he said it was “a very sick gallbladder “. He said the severity did not show up in the ultrasound. I feel so much better and it’s been 3 months. Recovery was very minimal. My point being you should follow your instincts and hopefully have a positive outcome whatever you decide.
