Dealing with Extreme Back Pain: Seeking Advice

Has anyone here ever ruptured a disc/herniated a disc in the spine? I’ve been having the most extreme back pain since October, and each month it has gotten worse and worse. I’m having shooting pain down my legs, my arms and my hands. I had an MRI that shows the disc displacement. I was prescribed Tizadine, Diflonac Sodium, and Hydro-codone. None of those are helping.. I’ve also turned to edible marijuana, and that helps only temporarily. It’s frustrating because I feel like I’ve hit a wall. I don’t know where to go from here. I’m supposed to see a pain specialist soon, and I’m hoping they will have a solution. Does anyone have any words of encouragement or ideas on how I can get through this?

Hernia at L4/5. Had surgery 4 years ago and it was a godsend. Re-herniated it last month. Having my first epidural shot Monday and another MRI and possibly another surgery with rods this time. Not looking forward to that but my first surgery gave me back my life. Find a great neurosurgeon for a consult.

I have a 9mm herniation at L4/L5! Anti-inflammatory diet, lots of water, walking as often and as much as comfortable, finding resting positions that don’t trigger the pain, meloxicam (NSAID), ice, magnesium oil before bed, and not sitting for longer than 20 minutes at a time. I’m waiting on an epidural steroid shot before considering surgery, honestly. I’ve been dealing with this for a year now… my foot is numb on top and the sciatic pain is non-stop. It’s a lot.

I’m so sorry, I also have a herniated disc! Acupuncture and reiki has helped me, if you’re interested in alternative ways of healing. I’m also on an anti inflammatory diet which helps tremendously! Hope all is well ❤️‍🩹
