Dealing with Dissociation: My Experience

do you ever feel like your vision almost blurs together? I can't tell exactly what happens with my vision when I dissociate and I'm trying to find the words. sometimes I feel like it's my eyes just focus on everything at once and it does the opposite affect. I'm 26f and started dissociating this year and I truly don't know how to handle it. I'm trying though!

Yes same! I can see just fine, but during these episodes everything smooshes together sort of. Kind of like when you rub your eyes too hard and you're left with that dim vision that's trying to adjust again.

that's a good way to put it actually! I'll keep that in mind next time I have to explain this to someone

yeah, I feel like I can see everything yet I can't truly focus on it. I've struggled to put that sensation into words but that's how it feels. I experience it so much that I've actually had people question if I have a vision problem, but I've been tested and my ability to see is completely fine.

That is exactly like how I feel, things are blury yet clear all at once. It is super scary sometimes. I've struggled with it for a few years now. I've found a few ways to help. But one way which I really like to do it put on my best headphones and listen to calming music. I listen to the eagles. Then just focus on every instrument one at a time. Helps me focus on things without my eyes, and when I'm done, I typically feel much better. Feel free to dm Me if you have any questions!
