I take medication for my depression, it helps lessen your symptoms drastically while you do the emotional work. But, I do supplement it with mild exercise, guided meditations, philosophy to help shift my previous views, and contact with others outside my home. I made a habit of saying the good things that happened each day. Even if it's just as simple as laughing for a few moments at a movie or the fact that I did one aspect of self care that has been neglected when I'm having a bad time. Such as, eating properly and drinking water when you didn't want to. It forces my brain to refocus on the positive.

I’d give advice of exercise. Not even anything intense, just getting out and about.

Try and find things that you know you enjoy and put some time aside each day to do them. Even a couple of hours of feeling good is better than not at all.

For example, I enjoy video games and might spend some time playing them to cheer myself up before doing a task.

Take medication. Depression gets worse over time and leads to suicide. Get help. Besides that, go outside, color, get some skin to skin contact with someone else. I'm not talking sex, I just mean skin to skin contact. I lift my shirt and my husband's shirt and then we hug. Both of us immediately relax a little bit.
