Dealing with Crowd Anxiety

does anyone have the fear of being in large crowds? I don't like crowded places or places that have loud noises. they give me really bad panic attacks and it leaves me in tears on some occasions, depending on how large the crowds are. the space where the crowds are located are usually very tight and I feel very insecure, i guess. any advice that can help?

I cannot be anywhere with large crowds or with loud music. I have panic attacks because I get so dizzy and because of that dizziness I get anxious and then I spiral into a full blown panic attack. I’ve experienced that the best thing to do is to leave the area to go to a quiet space to do some deep breathing and guided meditation which does actually work I thought it was stupid at first and once you’re calm try to go back into that noisy space. My therapist said you have to go back and just condition your brain that it can’t just get it’s way by making you have a panic attack.

I have a acquaintance who experiences similar disturbances, and I know it is very difficult ☮ She was diagnosed with anxiety, and she also was diagnosed with Agoraphobia. Agoraphobia is classified as an anxiety disorder. I hope you feel stronger & peaceful today ☮🙂

If sound reducing is an option for you (I know at times for me if I can't hear everything going on in a stressful environment I panic more), then I definitely recommend it. I have earbuds that only block out some sounds and others that muffle all, it's really trial and error but so far it's been the best method of calming down some of my senses to let me focus on others. It helps with the overwhelming-ness of it all and gives you a sense of some control. A comfort item or safe texture can be good to hold onto as well!
