I'm having a really bad pain day, the kind where you just wanna lay in bed and sleep, but I have lots of stuff to do today. pain meds like advil and tylenol don't help. does anyone have any tips on how to handle bad days where you can't just lay in bed?

Ice cold water can really help me when I'm in pain, even if it's temporary because it feels so nice and cleansing! I also suggest stretching out in your bed if able, it helps me if I'm having some joint pain.

Adjust your tasks to make them easier for you! If you have homework, essays, etc, pull up the document on your phone or computer and work on them in bed. No one said you can't lie in bed AND work :) If you have house chores to do, pull up a chair and do them sitting down. And take breaks often! I use tomato-timer all the time for timed work sessions/breaks. Do the best you can, and when the timer goes off, you HAVE to stop and rest. You can start over as many times as you want, and you can set the timer to switch between work/rest automatically. Even if you don't get as much stuff done as you want, forgive yourself. Anything at all is better than nothing, and when you're dealing with a lot of pain, even small tasks are an achievement.

This is slightly illegal. But I've explored using Marijuana to help me but it only made my pain worse. However magic mushrooms are great for days when I'm in pain and need to get things done around the house.

I would use some try to distraction technique. So like music or a fidget toy those have always been useful to me
Honestly my best advice would be to listen to your body and REST. Work-wise, there is nothing so important it can't be done either tomorrow or by someone else. Same goes for errands. If you don't rest now while you still have that choice to make, your body will take that choice from you, sometimes permanently. Tell people who you had obligations with that you'll have to take a rain check, you're sick and don't feel well. Whether you immediately reschedule or not, you'll be okay. Relax, take meds if you need to, and rest
Lots of water and making sure I'm eating food to fuel my body, even when eating hurts, has been really helpful. Making myself move is sometimes the worst pain but eventually I limber up a little! The last thing is an all natural muscle cream! ❤️
Honestly I try to do whatever I can from bed! I know that's not very applicable for stuff like household chores, but remote work and things like that work ok with that. And tbh, if your pain is keeping you from being productive even if you're really trying, it's ok to take a day off every now and then. You're not going to be as productive if you're in tons of pain anyways. If you REALLY have to get stuff done, I try the works - heat or cold packs, arnica gel to numb pains, gentle stretching, gentle exercise, whatever works. I just throw whatever I can at the pain and see what sticks. I hope you get some relief soon!
I wish I knew. I had the same kind of day. Ended up pushing everything off until tomorrow, which is now causing anxiety. I’m sorry you are struggling.
