Dealing with Chronic Migraines: Seeking Advice and Support

has anyone experienced migraines for over a month straight? I'm on a med that starts with a V. it doesn't take the pain away it's suppose to prevent them from returning. about 2 weeks ago I tried a shot of emgality. it's a once a month shot. did nothing for the pain. I'm not allowed to take tylonel or ibuprofen. plus they don't help anyways. I'm in severe pain everyday. nd I'm also working my job while in horrible pain. I jus wanna know if there's others out there suffering this way too. nd if they have any recommendations.

I had a migraine for about 2 months straight a few years ago. But I also have had chronic migraines since birth. I went to the hospital. A few times. I did a few tests. No medication they gave me worked. I just had to ride it out. The only thing that helps is sitting in a dark room.

I have taken like every medication under the sun for migraine and things work for a while then stop working. Netec is what I have now but I only use it when I absolutely have to. Also you can only take every other day. I am also getting botox injection for them which where working for a while but not as much any more. I am also on Topamax but I'm 99% sure it's causing me vision issues.

so I’ve had chronic migraines for over four years now and had them off and on since I started my first period. they came full swing when I was getting diagnosed with endometriosis and then they ended up being rebound for three years. I don’t take excedrin as much anymore. I only take it less than 10 days a month and this is for all NSAIDS. I still get them everyday. sometimes I’ll wake up with one and they’ll go away usually. unless there’s a trigger and they get worse. mine have been getting bad again but when I go back to see a neurologist, I’m hoping to get put on something. it’s not fun having migraines daily. I’d see if you can get in to see a neurologist. they would be able to prescribe new medications. it’s a trial and error to see what works best for you. some migraine meds didn’t work for me and I stopped seeing my neuro because I didn’t like her 🙃 there’s also ice packs, heating pads, they have some gel cool wraps where it’s sticky and you put it on your forehead. I saw these patches they have for migraines too! I hope this helps 💓

.I have also used amitriptyline and it only worked for a short time. I am now taking Toprimate with is doing good. But also can cause depression. I recently had a CT scan of my brain and all is normal. I am going to explore looking into my hormones because I have learned that my headaches can come from that. Also my neurologist gave me a list of foods to avoid.

Same :( before I got on topamax I had a migraine 28/30 days and nothing would help (now that I'm off it it's coming back) my only real recommendations would be a hot towel and sleep but I'm assuming u've already tried that. Gl<3

, are you still taking Topamax? I also suffer from migraines badly and pretty much have tried everything. I recently had a CT scan of my brain. All came back normal. Only thing I can think of is my hormones. I did some research and bow believe it contributes to estrogen.
