Dealing with Chronic Fatigue: Seeking Advice

Hello, I have been experiencing extreme fatigue for the last few years that gradually has gotten worse and worse. Some days I am so fatigued I can’t get out of bed to even shower or do the bare necessities. These days seem to come in phases. Most days I am able to mostly function (shower, get some tasks done but not all) but am still extremely fatigued and lay down most of the day as long as i can. Caffeine doesn’t help, I take vitamins daily, follow a gluten free and mostly healthy home cooked diet. Usually I am too tired to exercise but I do maybe once or twice a month. It is so bad it is preventing me from getting a job. I have tried multiple medications (abilify, lamictal, Effexor, adderall, modafinil) modafinil, adderall, Effexor, and lamictal didn’t work at all. The abilify is the only one that gave me consistent energy. I felt like a new person I was able to function and even started applying to jobs. However then it started making me hypomanic and I had to stop it. I am trying Wellbutrin now which i just started this week so I’m not yet sure if it will work. I am looking for advice for this fatigue. What medications have worked for you? Did you get diagnosed with a specific disorder? Any insight is much appreciated.

I’m on Wellbutrin right now. I’ve been on it for 4/5 years ish? It used to work great! Now it just doesn’t work as well as it used to, so I’m looking to change!

Ah yeah everyone is different, it’s a matter of finding the right medication. I was told Wellbutrin is similar to abilify so that’s why I’m trying it now. I’m hoping it works and I don’t get the hypomania side effect.. if not I’ll keep trying others. I think she would like to try Latuda next if Wellbutrin doesn’t work. Have you tried Wellbutrin?

I’m following because I have the same issues. Abilify did the opposite for me. It made my fatigue worse though!
