Dealing with Chronic Cough: Any Suggestions?

Hi. Every time I get any illness that irritates my throat I get a really annoying cough that lasts for weeks and weeks sometimes. My throat is so incredibly reactive. Currently I am just recovering from Covid and a sinus infection and have a little bit of post nasal drip that is triggering the cough. I’m not coughing much out so a lot of the time it’s dry and makes my throat feel almost strangled. It is really taking a toll on my emotional health. I use a humidifier, drink lots of tea, have an antihistamine nasal spray but it just won’t quit. Any ideas? And how long do these symptoms usually linger for you?

I've been dealing with post nasal and cough 24/7 for 12 years and can't figure it out. Have you tried stopping your nasal spray? Sometimes over use can make it worse, also cut out dairy for a few weeks and only drink water and more of it to thin out your mucus production

I actually just started the nasal spray…12 years, that’s rough, I’m sorry. I have been drinking lots and that does help.

When I switched to water only for 2 years now, that helped the most so far. But I still cough do to itchy throat/post nasal drip, nothing like haulking spit from morning to dark due to post nasal
