Dealing with Bunion Pain and Diabetes

I was born with bunions due to how the bones in my feet formed when growing in the womb. Currently i have pain in my feet around the bunion area, so much pain that i cant walk normally. Ive been to a doctor, and he wants to due a newer surgery that just rotates the bone instead of cutting the bone, but i currently cant have it due to my A1C being high. Does anyone have any tips to help deal with the pain for the mean time while i work on my diabetes?

Can’t they give you metformin to lower your A1C.

im already on metformin on top of being on a pdm. But the lack of control is my fault, not the medication, ive only recently gotten back in the habit of caring for my diabetes properly
