Dealing with Bipolar Disorder without Medication

I have been dealing with Bipolar Disorder for years with no medication. I'm wondering if anyone else goes through a very noticeable cycle of manic, apathetic and depression?

Absolutely. I've gotten much better with the use of medication, though. My Lithium helps limit manic episodes, and my antidepressants and ADHD medication help me work through my depressive episodes. Before medication, my manic episodes made me feel like I was high and on top of the world, like I was invincible. My depressive episodes had me lying in bed for hours, just not wanting to be in this world at all and feeling horrible for it at the same time because I knew I had things to live for, and because during my depressive episodes I couldn't take care of my kids, and I just spiraled further into the depression.
